Not much of a market for Thomas?

Well, we have yet to see anything materialize on the trade front for the Bruins, but am hearing they are still in active talks.

My speculation on Tim Thomas being involved yesterday was just that; speculation. It makes sense that the team would want to move him, but it takes two to tango, and several of his potential landing spots/destinations appear to be off the table given some of the signings that took place.

James Murphy is reporting that Marc Savard trade discussions are ongoing and that a GM told him that there is a market for him, whereas the one for Thomas has thinned out.

All this means is that the Bruins may hold onto Thomas for the time being, and when an NHL team inevitably loses a starter to serious injury or a club like Washington doesn't get championship-caliber goaltending from Simeon Varlamov or Michal Neuvirth, that a deal will be struck then.

With the long holiday weekend around the corner, if a trade isn't announced today, then something will likely have to happen next week or later.

  1. At this point I have no idea what to expect with Savard. We've heard so many different rumors and stories, who knows.

Thomas... I expect him and his huge salary cap hit to still be a Bruin.
